Our Core Aeration Process

Core aeration can provide significant benefits for your lawn, but it needs to be done correctly to achieve the best results. When performing this service, our team uses professional aeration equipment that removes small plugs of soil from the lawn. Depending on the level of soil compaction, we may pass over the lawn once or twice to ensure the soil is properly opened.

As the aerator moves across the lawn, it pulls out small soil cores that relieve compacted soil and create openings that allow water, nutrients, and oxygen to reach the root zone more effectively. After the aeration process is complete, the soil cores are left on the lawn where they will naturally break down and return nutrients back into the soil.

When Do We Offer Our Aeration Service?

Different grass types benefit from aeration at different times of the year. Because lawns in the Atlanta area can contain both warm season and cool season grasses, timing aeration correctly helps maximize results.

Warm Season Grass: Warm season grasses such as Bermuda and Zoysia are typically aerated in mid-spring, once the lawn has begun actively growing.
